Camel Trek 3 Days/2 Nights
Leaving M’Hamid in the morning by camel, you will be accompanied by a local guide and his crew.
We are riding in direction of Bertham, a historic springtime nomad camp. Lunch and a typical nomad
tea will be enjoyed in the shade of some Tamarisk trees. Afterwards our caravan continues towards
Oued Naam, where we set up camp for the night.
After breakfast, set out along the caravan route towards Outide (the old caravan route leading into
the Western Sahara). Along the way we will pass the Hamada of Drâa. Lunch and a little more
trekking in the afternoon, we will reach our campsite right in time for sunset. You can help the cook
prepare a “pain de sable” (sandbread) for dinner, dinner will be followed by nomadic songs around
the fire while enjoying some tea.
In the morning we will continue back towards the oasis of M’Hamid, passing the dunes of Douib
along the way. We eat lunch under the palmtrees of the oasis M’Hamid (inhabited by the original
nomads from the south of the great African Sahara), where the locals will tell us more about their
culture and history. Return to the village of M’Hamid in the afternoon.
