4 Days Tours From Marrakech To Erg Chigaga
Start your journey at 8:00 from Marrakech by 4x4, we are headed south crossing the High Atlas at
Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260 meters). Continuing along scenic roads, we reach Ouarzazate in time for
lunch. Then wander around the Kasbah Taourirt, before driving south over the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass
(1660 meters) to Agdz. Dinner and overnight in one of the oldest Kasbahs of the Draa Valley, the Kasbah
Tamnougalte.
We leave Agdz after breakfast, continuing through the Draa Valley with its 1001 Kasbahs, and a grove of
palm trees stretching over 200 km to the south. We will journey along the old caravan route, taking the
backroads through the palm tree grove all the way to Zagora. Reach the end of the road in M’Hamid by
noon, where we are served lunch at a charming guesthouse in the shade of palm trees. Off into the vast
desert in the afternoon, by 4x4 vehicle we travel 60km along sandy roads to Erg Chigaga. Arrive in time to
watch the sun set over the biggest sand dunes of Morocco. Dinner at our Nomad camp and overnight in
traditional tents equipped with carpets, mattresses etc.
After breakfast we explore the big dunes of Erg Chigaga by camel. Continue our journey through the
Sahara by 4x4 jeep, between here and Foum Zguide lay 90km of desert, mountains, fossils and Lake
Iriqui, sit back and take in the diverse landscapes. Lunch will be had in Foum Zguide, the first village
after leaving the Sahara. In the late afternoon we will arrive in Ouarzazate, dinner and overnight at a
hotel in Ouarzazate.
In the morning we can visit the film studios just outside of Ouarzazate before heading towards Ait Ben
Haddou. Along the way will pass through rock deserts, and high desert plateaus which have been the
backdrop of many western movies. Enjoy lunch at the Kasbah Ait-Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World
Heritage site since 1987. Our tour will end mid afternoon back in Marrakech.
